Help give our children a better future GET INVOLVED

  • On September 6, 2021, my 16-year-old son Chavan Scruggs was murdered due to senseless gun violence. No mother ever thinks of losing her child. In fact, in a perfect world, we expect them to bury us. That became the most devastating trauma that I felt any mother would feel in a lifetime. I wanted to do something. I wanted to help people who felt this pain as I do still today. In 2022, I founded Mothers Involved Against Gun Violence, a non-profit organization in hopes of bringing mothers and families together that shared this type of trauma, offering counseling and other coping mechanisms and other resources to help regain a meaningful life after such tragic life trauma. So what makes Mothers Involved Against Gun Violence Non-Profit different? Simply one thing: being that mother that has lost her child is a different feeling which brings a different mission. Join me as I stand against gun violence and help us to change lives one step and one family at a time. Every dollar and every helping hand helps us make a difference. Forever in Memory of Chavan J Scruggs FOREVER16 Sincerely, Founder Nija Hill
